Safeguard Coaches and its sister business Farnham Coaches have each taken delivery of a Yutong GT12, supplied by Pelican Bus and Coach.

They are the first vehicles from the Chinese marque to join either operator and have been finished in the two companies’ distinctive joint livery at the factory prior to shipment.

Each is a 53-seater with a centre sunken toilet. A black-based trim has been used with red flecks and shoulder and thigh inserts. Three-point belts and the customary USB and 240-volt power outlets are included.

Both coaches are PSVAR compliant, with a passenger lift behind the front axle and silver LED destination displays. Power is from the DAF MX-11 engine developing 450bhp coupled to a ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox.

Safeguard Coaches and Farnham Coaches Managing Director James Vallance (pictured, left) took delivery of the Yutong GT12 pair from Pelican Bus and Coach Area Sales Manager Steve O’Neill (pictured, right).
