Lakeside Coaches of Ellesmere in Shropshire has taken delivery of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with coachbuilt Ferqui Sunset bodywork, supplied by EVM UK.

The First Bus subsidiary has specified 22 passenger seats in two-tone synthetic leather with diamond stitching and the Mercedes-Benz logo in metal within the backrests. Three-point belts and aisle-side folding armrests are also fitted, and a courier’s position is present.

Panoramic side glazing and windscreen are incorporated, while at the rear is a large boot that is accessed through an elevating door. Exterior lockers on each side give further storage.

Saloon air-conditioning via passenger service units is complemented by convector heaters. Decorative pleated draw curtains are also fitted, as is a fridge in the dash and a Mercedes-Benz MBUX infotainment system with seven-inch touch screen.

USB charging points are provided along with a PA system and wood-effect flooring, topped with carpet in the sunken gangway

The base vehicle is a Sprinter 519CDi extra-long wheelbase model with power taken via the 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic gearbox. Exterior finish is in arctic white, including the colour-coded bumpers, side mouldings and grille.
