Bassetlaw Action Centre of Retford has welcomed a Mellor Strata high-floor accessible minibus based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter underframe.
It is a 16-seater that also has capacity for up to seven wheelchair users. Those travellers benefit from an underfloor lift at the rear, with the Centre saying that the Strata high-floor’s flexible seating layout was a key consideration in its purchasing decision.
That was furthered by a longstanding relationship between the Centre and Mellor. The manufacturer’s products now make up two-third of the Action Centre’s fleet and it credits the Rochdale-based manufacturer with consistent communications and a practical understanding of operational needs.
Mellor adds that it “is proud to support Bassetlaw Action Centre in its continued efforts to connect people across the district,” and notes that vehicles such as the Strata high-floor play a key role in reducing rural isolation and improving access to services.
The Centre helps local people to live independently for longer, assisting them to connect with essential services and social opportunities.
