Robertsons of Lerwick on Shetland has called upon dealership EVM UK for the supply of two Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minicoaches.

One is a Transfer 45 conversion (pictured, above) that uses the 517CDI base vehicle, and the other is a coachbuilt Ferqui Sunset mounted on a slightly more powerful 519CDi underframe (pictured, below). The Ferqui has 19 seats plus courier alongside a powered plug passenger door, while the Transfer 45 can carry 22 passengers with access via an OEM sliding opening.

At the luxury end of the Sprinter-based market, the Ferqui for Robertsons uses two-tone synthetic leather trim along with folding aisle-side armrests, magazine nets and drop-down tables with iPad slots. The Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star is within each seat back.

Wood-effect flooring is fitted along with double-glazed side windows, a large panoramic windscreen, and air-conditioning ducted via passenger service united complemented by convector heating.

The coachbuilt vehicle also has an under-dash fridge and the Mercedes-Benz MBUX multimedia system with a touch-screen display and USB input. A feed from the reversing camera is viewed through that unit and a PA system is also fitted.

A rear boot area is complemented by twin side lockers, while the external finish is in selenite grey.

Meanwhile, the Transfer 45 seats are also finished in synthetic leather, and like the Sunset’s, they come with aisle-side folding armrests and three-point belts. Wood-effect flooring is a further common point, as is the MBUX system and touch-screen display.

The Transfer 45’s boot is accessed via OEM hinged doors, while the Mercedes-Benz saloon windows are also retained. Saloon air-conditioning is provided and the external finish is in obsidian black. Both minicoaches have the 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic gearbox.

Delivery of the vehicles to Robertsons by EVM UK continues an existing relationship that has previously seen the supply to Shetland of other small and mid-sized coaches, including the largest member of the dealership’s range in the 39-seat AOS Visigo rear-engined model.
