Parts distributor Imperial Engineering has appointed John Simmons as Sales Manager.

John joins from braking manufacturer Knorr-Bremse, where he worked for 22 years in aftermarket sales, technical support and product training for major bus companies.

He started his career as an apprentice vehicle mechanic with Lucas, before joining Brown Brothers and then Edmunds Walker as an area salesman. A 17-year stint in regional sales for Ferodo brake linings followed, which brought him into the bus and coach market.

Imperial Engineering has been a distributor for Knorr-Bremse since 1995, so John already has a good relationship with the firm.

He says: “I am delighted to join such a well-known and respected business with whom I have built up a great relationship over the years.”

John Dwight, Imperial Engineering’s Sales Director, says: “We have worked closely with John for many years and highly value his knowledge and experience in the bus and coach industry. To be able to continue this relationship in his new role at Imperial Engineering at such a busy and important time for our company is very exciting.”
