More entries have arrived for the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) Photo Competition, which aims to share views of the coach and bus industry at its best throughout 2020.

The contest is open to all. CPT will accept entries until 20 December, and it is offering a top prize of £1,000 for the overall winner. Hundreds of pounds’ worth of holiday and shopping vouchers are up for grabs in other categories.

The winning image for February 2020 is from David Barrow (above). It shows a Volvo B5TL with open-top Wrightbus Gemini 3 bodywork in the Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire fleet at work in Grasmere.

A further photograph by David is in the highly commended category. It depicts a nearly new Stagecoach West Scotland Volvo B11RLE with Plaxton Panorama bodywork departing from Glasgow bound for Edinburgh on the operator’s flagship 900 service.

Adrian Gibbons of Treharris operator Gibbons Coach Holidays submitted a further highly commended shot. It shows one of the operator’s Mercedes-Benz Tourismos while on tour.

Clayderman Liang is highly commended for his multimodal image of an articulated Cardiff Bus Scania OmniCity passing beneath evidence of the Welsh capital’s brewing heritage. Daniel Graham is also highly commended for two pictures: One of a line-up of Go North East double-deckers, and another of a Wrightbus Gemini 3-bodied Volvo B9TL of the same operator at work in the snow. All Highly Commended entries are below.

The judging panel for the overall winners will include CPT CEO Graham Vidler, External Relations Manager Tom Bartošák-Harlow and a professional photographer. The results will be announced in routeone in 2021, with monthly winners and highly commended entries published on an ongoing basis.
