The Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) has partnered with operators Coatham Coaches, Arriva and Stagecoach to host a recruitment event for potential coach and bus drivers at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough.

The event took place on 15 July and allowed members of the public to test drive a coach or bus within the venue’s car park. Each of the operators provided vehicles while information stands provided career information to prospective drivers.

The event was described as a success and CPT says it will host more in the future.

“It was great to meet people interested in becoming a coach or bus driver at our inaugural recruitment event at the Riverside,” says Andrew McGuinness, CPT’s Regional Manager for the North of England. “We are very grateful to CPT members Arriva, Stagecoach and Coatham Coaches for their support and to Middlesbrough FC for hosting us.

“Being a bus driver is an extremely rewarding career, a role which involves connecting people with vital community-based activities and the chance to make a real difference to people’s lives.”
