Parrys International will mark 50 years in the coach industry with a two-night celebration for 250 customers and invited guests in London on 3-4 November.

The Walsall-based tour operator says the weekend will represent the last event with Dave Parry – founder and Managing Director since 1973 – at the helm as management changes are mooted.

Guests will be attend a gala dinner on the Friday night at London Heathrow Marriott Hotel with champagne reception and entertainment, which will include Brendan Sheerin from TV series Coach Trip, actress Claire Sweeney,  a live band and resident DJ.

The weekend will also include a “unique presentation” of the 50 years and a Thames River Cruise including lunch on the Saturday.

The business started as as Speedway Coaches and is now best known for high-specification coaches and its own UK and overseas tour programme.

Mr Parry had considered selling the business in 2013 but at the operator’s 45th anniversary event, he committed to five more years. Parrys International now confirms it is committed to continuing in 2024 and beyond but possibly under a switch of management in the coming months.
