Delta Coaches has carried out a major expansion by creating new job opportunities.

With the company keen to employ women in a range of posts, Judith Haysmore, the former chief executive of autism charity Daisy Chain, is one of the first to seize the opportunity.

She says: “I have joined as a director with a remit to develop the business, especially in the area of providing accessible transport.

“I was looking for a new challenge and this one had immediate appeal.”

Gary Walton, Managing Director of Delta, said that the recent expansion – which saw them take over GL Coaches in Middlesbrough – secured 15 jobs and created a handful of new posts.

And the recruitment drive is not over yet. Gary says: “In the short term we are looking for qualified drivers as we expand our service provision, and women drivers are especially welcome to apply.”
