TBC Conversions launched a battery-electric Ford E-Transit nine-seater at Euro Bus Expo. It says that the minibus is the fruit of a six-figure investment and “aims to reshape the future of sustainable transportation.”

The vehicle has been developed with Ford’s technical input and comes with a claimed range of almost 200 miles. It has quick-release seating, an electrically operated cantilever step, and options for inboard and underfloor passenger lifts.

Next to the Ford E-Transit on the TBC stand was a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 17-seater accessible minibus. It is now compatible with HVO, which the converter says can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%.

Speaking about the two vehicles, TBC Managing Director Donavon McKillen says: “With a notable increase in demand for sustainable materials, advanced safety features and enhanced fuel efficiency, TBC is leading the way in developing vehicle conversions that not only reduce environmental impact but meet the ever-evolving needs of our customers.

“Our dual offering of electric and HVO-capable vehicles represents a key milestone in TBC’s mission to provide environmentally friendly transport solutions that enable our customers to travel safely and independently without compromising on style or comfort.”

TBC was founded in 2006 and is part of the Donnelly Group, the largest independently owned vehicle retailer in Northern Ireland. It has factories in Dungannon and Bromborough on Merseyside and is active in various other spheres alongside minibus conversions.

Mr McKillen adds that TBC technicians have “undergone extensive electric vehicle training, ensuring that every product we bring to market reflects our reputation for quality, reliability, and trust.”
