In a final attempt to save its rural bus routes, Cumbrian operator Blueworks Taxis has issued a public appeal via Facebook to raise £16,750 to cover its financial standing requirements. alt=”” class=”figimg” src=”http://routeonenews.divcomstaging.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Post.png” style=”float:right” />

The firm appeared at a Public Inquiry at which maintenance issues were examined [routeone/4 July/Court Report].

The Facebook post on 16 July says that routes X112, X70 and X32m “will cease on the afternoon of 20 July unless we find £16,750.”

“This is not to run the route but basically to have available for repairs etc. This is a ruling DVSA in order to have our operator licence.

“Four years ago when we had our last review this money was available. The routes have sucked us dry to have this cash available. We are making one last appeal for any companies or people with spare funds to come forward and save your rural bus routes.”
