Blackpool Council has opened a new partnership with Treka Bus via the arrival of three Mobility+ accessible minibuses built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter base vehicle.
They are the first of the type to join the local authorityâs fleet and sit alongside a large number of other accessible vehicles. Blackpool Council is using them to support college transport, with two conveying adults and the third serving younger people.
Each minibus can carry up to 16 seated passengers or six wheelchair users. A single âgliderâ door at the front is complemented by an underfloor lift at the rear.
Treka Bus believes that the Mobility+ delivery to Blackpool Council âmarks the beginning of what promises to be a strong partnershipâ between it and the local authority.
âFollowing driver and user feedback, there may be an opportunity to further expand Blackpoolâs Treka fleet in the future, a prospect that we are excited to support,” it says.
