Chandlers Coach Travel has taken delivery of an Irizar i6S Efficient integral, supplied by Irizar UK.
It is a 12.9m, two-axle example that has 57 i6 seats with their side laterals and headrests trimmed in synthetic leather, complemented by piping in the same material. Drop-down tables and USB charging points are included, as are three-point belts.
A centre sunken toilet is fitted along with a drinks machine. Driver and courier seats match the passenger positions but are in full leather for style and durability. Entertainment is via a Bosch Smart Series system and an Actia DVD player with two monitors.
Chandlers Coach Travel has specified PSVAR provision to protect the vehicle’s residual value. The operator has also selected a camera monitoring system in lieu of conventional mirrors.
Irizar completed the coach in Chandlers’ livery at the factory in Spain. It carries the name Edward James to honour founder Margaret I’Anson’s grandson. She established the Westbury business in 1991 and is now joined in running it by her son Jack.
Power in the new coach is from a DAF MX-11 engine developing 408bhp coupled to the ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox. It follows multiple previous Irizar integrals into the Wiltshire fleet.
