Nottingham City Transport has introduced the initial examples of its second tranche of Yutong battery-electric buses into service.

The batch is 24-strong, with deployment to complete over the next few months. They follow an initial delivery of the same number of E10 and E12 models. The overall procurement of 62 vehicles, part-funded by the Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas scheme, will be completed by 14 due towards the end of 2025.

The buses to have entered service recently have done so on Bridgford Bus routes between Nottingham city centre and West Bridgford. Those run up to every five minutes. To celebrate the vehicles’ introduction an event was held in West Bridgford on Saturday 8 February.

Nottingham City Transport has again chosen a high specification for the second tranche of Yutong arrivals.

That includes extra legroom, a larger buggy bay, and a wheelchair user space with no tip-up seats to reduce conflict. USB-C charging points are also included, and the buses have air-conditioning as standard.
