Phil Haines Coaches has taken delivery of an Irizar i6S Efficient integral 13.2m tri-axle. It has been supplied by Irizar UK and christened Sir Phil by the Boston operator in honour of the company’s founder.
The coach has 53 i6 Plus seats with drop-down tables, magazine nets, three-point belts and footrests. USB charging is provided at each double position, and the vehicle is prepared for future PSVAR compliance in consideration of its later life. That includes fitment of front, side and rear destination displays.
Entertainment comes from a Bosch Smart Series audio-visual system with twin monitors. A centre sunken toilet includes an electric hand dryer, and the unit is topped by a drinks machine.
Other elements of the specification include a road-facing camera and a multifunction steering wheel.
Externally, the vehicle showcases a new livery application for Phil Haines Coaches that has been designed by Irizar at its factory in Spain. It utilises a dark metallic base colour and on the new arrival is complemented by dark-tint side glazing, LED exterior lighting, and a cherished registration mark.
Power comes from the DAF MX-11 engine developing 449bhp coupled to a ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox.
