Stanley Travel has taken delivery of its fifth VDL Futura FHD2. It is another 12.9m two-axle example that has been supplied by VDL Bus and Coach UK.

The newcomer has 57 seats and represents further fleet investment by Stanley Travel. It follows similar VDLs into the County Durham fleet in both 2021 and 2022, the former of which recently gained FlixBus livery as part of Stanley Travel’s work with the scheduled coach service provider.

Delivery of the latest VDL from the factory in the Netherlands saw it arrive in PSVAR ready state. Completion for full compliance is expected soon when the necessary equipment from suppliers Hanover and PLS is fitted, the dealership has confirmed.

Under the bonnet is a DAF MX-11 engine developing 408bhp coupled to a ZF Traxon 12-speed automated manual gearbox.

Handover at the dealership’s Barnsley premises was by VDL Bus and Coach UK Area Sales Manager Tim Fairless (pictured, right) to Stanley Travel Director Ian Scott (pictured, left).
