Mechanic wins at tribunal

A mechanic who lost his job following a take over by a Rotherham coach firm has been awarded £5,818 compensation.

John Napper worked for Wilkinsons Travel Ltd of Rotherham but lost his job when Cawthorne’s Travel Ltd of Rotherham took over last year.

Cawthorne’s also has an address at Bramley Avenue, Aston, Sheffield.

Mr Napper made legal claims at Sheffield Employment Tribunal for unfair dismissal, breach of contract and holiday pay against both firms.

The tribunal was told by Mr Napper that there had been a failure to make payment in respect of accrued holiday pay under the Working Time Regulations.

Judge Morgan said all of Mr Napper’s legal claims against Cawthorne were well founded and that the claims against Wilkinsons were dismissed.

Cawthorne’s, which specialises in day trips and tours, was incorporated in September 2016.
