Alfa Travel won the Silver Standout for Solos award at the Silver Travel Advisor Silver Travel Awards in London on 24 October.

The Lancashire-based business was also highly commended in the Best UK Breaks Operator category at the event, which recognises excellence in providing travel for the over-50s.

The winners were chosen by a panel of industry experts.

Emma Russell, Managing Director of parent company Alfa Leisureplex Group, says: “We are delighted to have won the Silver Standout for Solos Award and for being highly commended as the Best UK Breaks Operator.

“We have seen huge growth in guests travelling solo in recent years and have made a number of changes to adapt our products and services so that we have more holidays available for solo travellers.

“This year we have made over 400 rooms available for our solo travellers and have been adding more solo rooms across our own hotels each year.”

Alfa Coaches, which is another subsidiary of the employee-owned Alfa Leisureplex Group, is a finalist in the Large Coach Operator of the Year category at the routeone Awards on 13 November.
