Brighton updates summer schedule

Brighton & Hove Buses’ summer schedule, which comes into force on 17 June, sees extra services added.

More buses will run along the Coaster route, and Brighton-Eastbourne will run every day.

The popular 77 to Devil’s Dyke will also return to operate every day, every 45 minutes with extra evening journeys.

The timetable change includes two extra night-time journeys six nights a week at 0105hrs and 0205hrs.

Brighton & Hove Buses’ Managing Director Martin Harris says: “We’re pleased to be able to offer extra services along the popular Coaster route and to return the much-loved open-top tour buses to Devil’s Dyke, and with the new destination sightseeing tours, there’s something for the city’s visitors too.

“We’ve also reviewed our night network as we promised following a customer survey after some people were unhappy with the few bus services we removed in the New Year because of very minimal take up.

“The survey responses backed our own evidence that these routes were used by only a handful of people, but we’re offering these additional night journeys to honour our word. And we remain committed to extending the night service in the long term.”
