Global textile manufacturer Camira, founded as Holdsworth in 1822 in Halifax, is celebrating 200 years of transport textiles with a refresh of its bestselling fabric, Aura – by featuring 200 colourways in nine designs.

As well as celebrating the brand’s long history the collection aims to ensure the wool moquette remains the “textile of choice” for coach and bus interiors for years to come.

Aura is one of the company’s most popular transport fabrics. It was the final fabric released under the Holdsworth brand in 2004 and has been installed in vehicles across the world. Until now Aura has been available in 15 colourways (a combination of blues, reds and greys). The new range of 200 colourways promises a wide variety of choices as Camira continues to offer a colouration and design service for customers looking for bespoke patterns.

“In creating this extensive collection of 200 colourways in the nine iconic designs for which Aura is renowned, we’ve brought a new lease of life to a truly beloved product,” says Head of Transport Design at Camira Clara Crossan. “Designed with contemporary coach and bus interiors in mind, we’ve included zingy limes and deep greens to complement the growing trend for electric vehicles, as well as incorporating monochromatic colourways and classic navy shades to ensure there is truly a shade for every vehicle.”

The range officially launched on 7 June.
