FlixBus launches branded coach to promote Rajasthan tourism

FlixBus has unveiled a branded coach to promote the Indian state of Rajasthan to UK passengers.

Set to be used on the London-Cambridge service, the branding will also appear on a coach in India on several key routes, including Dehradun–Haridwar–Delhi–Jaipur.

The collaboration was marked at a ceremony in London on 11 August, which was attended by Mr Rakesh Dahiya, First Secretary (Trade, Tourism and OCI) at the High Commission of India to the United Kingdom, Senior Managing Director of FlixBus UK Andreas Schorling and Managing Director of FlixBus India Surya Khurana.

The partnership also involves 100 FlixBus passengers arriving in Jaipur receiving free entry to the city’s Albert Hall Museum.

A joint social media campaign will also be launched to push tourism in Rajasthan, which is India’s largest state, covering more than 10% of the land area in the northwest of the country.

Mr Rakesh Dahiya says: “On behalf of the High Commission of India, London, I would like to congratulate both FlixBus and Rajasthan’s Department of Tourism, for the launch of this visionary and very memorable initiative.

“The flag-off of this heritage-themed FlixBus service is not only a promotional event, it is a celebration of Rajasthan’s rich culture and heritage.

“The linkage of a QR code to the Department of Tourism’s website is a brilliant touch, blending tradition and technology. Let the wheels roll and let Rajasthan’s story travel far and wide in the UK.”

FlixBus launched in India in 2024 and now runs more than 220 buses across the country. Parent company Flix has entered more than 40 countries worldwide since launch in 2013.

Mr Schorling says: “Coach travel connects people to new places, as well as fresh perspectives and global heritage. Flix’s global reach allows us to celebrate reliable, sustainable and affordable transport not just here in the UK, but around the world.”
