Go South Coast switches to Blink internal communications solution

Go South Coast, part of Go-Ahead Group, has switched over to the Blink internal communications platform in a bid to enhance communications across its workforce.

Blink claims to be the world’s first enterprise app designed ‘exclusively for frontline workers’. One of its first major clients was fellow bus operator Stagecoach, which joined the platform in 2018.

Head of Communications at Go South Coast Nikki Honer says Blink allows secure chats among individual operators or departments, offers colleagues a single point login for HR and employment facilities and functions as a news tool similar to social media platforms.

“It’s not all about work,” says Ms Honer. “Colleagues might want to share details of hobbies, or of their cooking triumphs – it’s entirely up to them. This is especially important right now. We know lots of colleagues have socialised together in our pre-COVID lives but, with current restrictions, this is not always possible. Blink is a great way for colleagues to stay in touch and support each other outside of their working hours too.

“It’s great to have a platform which facilitates conversations – not just one way traffic from managers. It’s a far more inclusive system than we’ve used in the past. Now, more than ever, we want everyone to feel valued and part of our team. We’re looking forward to engaging with them all via Blink over the coming months.”
