The National Express Foundation has pledged more than £100,000 to community causes across the UK in its latest round of funding.

Thirty-two organisations were chosen via a grant bidding process and were awarded a share of £102,100.

The operator’s foundation was set up in 2012 and has since invested £1.7 million in good causes.

The largest recipient of funding – at £4,500 – was Women in Transport, the not-for-profit organisation empowering women in the transport industry and which includes the Diversity and Inclusion Bus Group.

Beneficiaries to receive £4,000 included Human Rights Solidarity, Africa 2000 and the GINA project. Other to gain funding included Bromsgrove Bears Basketball Club CIC, the Positive Youth Foundation in Coventry and Momz Project in Glasgow.

Kate Reynolds, Trustee and Chair of the National Express Foundation, says: “We’re delighted that our latest funding round will see community organisations engage with over 2,000 young people. We had an overwhelming level of interest in our latest funding round, so we’re really pleased to be able to work with a number of community organisations across the country who we are confident will do a great job supporting, engaging and inspiring young people.”
