National Express UK Coach has maintained its five-star rating from the British Safety Council for an eighth consecutive year.

Continued accreditation has been secured following a thorough health and safety audit by an external assessor. That process goes beyond legal minimum requirements and judges companies on absolute best practice in safety culture, leadership and wellbeing.

Says Managing Director Chris Hardy: “The safety of our customers, employees and the general public is at the heart of everything we do, and we set ourselves high standards to work to.

“The past 18 months have been challenging for everyone, so to once again be externally recognised for our efforts in safety is a testament to the commitment of every individual at National Express. We believe that everyone is responsible for safety, which is key to us keeping such high standards.”

Adds British Safety Council Policy and Technical Services Director David Parr: “The award of a five-star grading following our occupational best practice health and safety audit is an outstanding achievement.

“It is reflective of a proactive organisation that is committed to continual improvement in its health and safety arrangements and managing risks to workers’ health, safety and welfare. National Express should be very proud of this achievement.”

National Express UK Coach was also granted continued ISO45001:2018 certification. That is an international standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety management system.
