Data delivered by Transport Focus’ (TF) highly-respected Bus Passenger Survey is operators’ key weapon to improve their services – and ridership – through understanding how satisfied their customers are, and what they need to change.

Already, networks with high passenger satisfaction are seeing it rewarded by passenger and/or revenue growth.

Says TF’s Stuart Edwards: “How it works is the richness of the data, showing the big influences of trust, and what passengers need.”

One of TF’s standout graphics – a ‘square pie’ – showing the difference between what makes a ‘good’ and ‘excellent’ journey- principally the driver, was on display.

“A lot of operators have come along over the two days, and they say that not only is our data very useful, but also the way it is presented.”
