Passenger makes departure boards available on myTrip

Passenger has added departure board functionality on its myTrip app, allowing bus users to see live departure information for each stop.

The app update builds on the stop board feature that was already available on the myTrip operator websites. It combines real-time feeds and scheduled information, depending on what is available from each of the 50-plus operators using the app.

By clicking on “Live Buses” in the main menu, passengers will be able to tap on a specific stop and then progress to “Departures” for up-to-date bus information.

The app will then display up to 30 incoming departures, distinguishing real-time from scheduled data. Clicking each departure then allows the user to see the live or scheduled times for stops along the vehicle’s journey.

Operators can check the accuracy and completeness of data via Passenger Cloud.

Passenger has updated its operator marketing pack with graphics to support the promotion of the new functionality.

In February, Passenger announced it had added bus fare information to its white label app, allowing passengers of thus far five of the operator’s customers to see pricing information before using a service.
