Scales Coaches of Ennistymon, Co Clare, has taken delivery of a Mercedes-Benz Tourismo, supplied by EvoBus (UK).

It has 49 Luxline seats with silver/grey upholstery and a leather steering wheel with mocha oak inlays. Power is from the 10.7-litre OM 470 engine coupled to a ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox. Preparation work prior to handover was undertaken by dealership M50 of Dublin.

The coach was ordered in late 2019 and due for delivery in March 2020, but with the COVID-19 pandemic and Brexit impacts that date was postponed until recently.

Scales Coaches Director Joe Scales says that since its arrival, the Tourismo has been busy on incoming tour work. It will primarily be used on that programme as and when international travel further reopens.
