Turas 800s on DAF XB chassis among three Brian Noone additions

A DAF XB-based Turas 800s midi is among three additions to the Noone Turas range of small coaches. It sits alongside a further debut product and reintroduction of a third, all of which were announced at Euro Bus Expo.

The Noone Turas 800s will be built on a 10,000kg GVW XB chassis. Emirates, the Dubai-based airline, has ordered 50 airside variants of the type for use on aircrew shuttle work, with a potential for an additional 70 vehicles.

Meanwhile, the new low-floor Turas Connect is a 21-seat extended Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus available at £122,000.

Completing the line-up is re-introduction of the cost-effective Sprinter-based Envoy conversion, a 19- or extended 22-seat vehicle that the dealer says will enable operators to stay in house with all their midi vehicle requirements.

A combination of an increase in vehicle supply and the success of the existing Noone Turas range has prompted Llanrwst-based dealer Jones Coach and Bus Sales to recruit additional members of its team. “We are a small team, with limited opportunities to get knocking on doors,” says Managing Director Steve Jones.

“The new range, and the growing interest in it, has prompted us to look for another sales professional for England as well as adding another member of our parts team. The vehicles are such great products so this expansion has been on the cards for some time. We’ve sold 32 Noone vehicles to date and are expecting to sell 60 in 2025, and double that in 2026.

“The 37-seat Turas 900s is our best seller and we’re aiming for the Turas 800s, with a starting price of £160,000, to be the ‘new’, much improved, variation on the previously very popular Mercedes-Benz Vario/Plaxton Cheetah combination.”

The larger Turas 900s has moved to the DAF XB chassis from its predecessor the LF, with two of those examples on show at Euro Bus Expo. Among them was the 1,000th example of the Turas range to be supplied in an example for Buggy Coaches of Tullamore, Co Offaly (pictured).
