Transdev Blazefield will replace the Yorkshire Tiger identity with a new Team Pennine brand and a two-tone magenta livery after it completes the purchase of the business from Arriva in the summer.
The move forms part of a “long term” overhaul plan for the West Yorkshire operation from Transdev, which says that the new Team Pennine name will be introduced progressively over 18 months to depots in Elland and Huddersfield. It adds that the transition will deliver “higher quality and reliability” to current customers of Yorkshire Tiger. Transdev agreed the purchase in April although two routes will be retained by Arriva Yorkshire.
Transdev Blazefield CEO Alex Hornby says: “The new Team Pennine name symbolises our locally bespoke, people-centric approach. Bus companies are all about the local people and the local places that they serve, and this brand completely symbolises how we intend to run this business.
“While we have plans for step changes on day one of the takeover, which we will announce soon, we will be launching a long-term plan to transform the business over the following 18 months. Our ultimate vision is that the new Team Pennine company will achieve what we set out to achieve elsewhere – to deliver buses that people will be proud to be seen on.”
This week Transdev will begin a programme of one-to-one meetings with each of the 163 staff members that will transfer with the purchase. The recently granted Team Pennine O-Licence authorises the operation of 50 vehicles at Waterloo and 31 at Elland.
