Tyred campaign support from Arriva NW and Wales

Arriva North West and Wales is supporting the Tyred campaign, which raises awareness of the dangers of old tyres. In doing so, the operator has changed supplier for its 1,000 vehicles to Continental.

The supply arrangement includes regular reporting and monitoring of key performance trends in tyres and service levels.

A dedicated Continental Fleet Inspector will oversee tyre performance, husbandry, pressure monitoring and maintenance.

The Tyred campaign was founded by Frances Molloy. Mrs Molloy’s son Michael was killed in a coach accident that involved the use of an old tyre.

Says Head of Marketing for Arriva North West and Wales Lisa Pearson: “The Tyred campaign has highlighted the horrors of having old tyres and the hurt and loss they can cause.

“Making sure that Arriva leads the way for passenger safety, and showing others in the sector that it can be done, is something that we are extremely proud of.”
