East Yorkshire spells out support for NHS

Another bus company has shown its support for Britain’s National Health Service by parking its buses to form the initials ‘NHS’.

Following a similar tribute by Brighton and Hove Buses, drivers and engineers from Hull-based operator East Yorkshire arranged the stunt at the company’s Anlaby Road garage, which is situated across from Hull Royal Infirmary, on 23 April while celebrating the regular ‘clap for our carers’ event at the front of the depot.

Says East Yorkshire Area Director Ben Gilligan: “Since the lockdown, our team have been taking many NHS staff to their vital work at hospitals and healthcare facilities across the region. We wanted to show our appreciation for their commitment and dedication.”

“We’re advising people to only travel by bus if it’s essential, and we’d encourage people to stay home, protect the NHS and save lives.”

NHS staff continue to use the buses to travel to work during the fight against coronavirus COVID-19.

The arrangement was captured by Hull-based Octovision Media’s drone camera.
