Reading Buses is commending two of its staff members who have reached service anniversaries.

Dave Giles is celebrating 40 years’ service at Reading Buses.

Now 69 and living in Reading, Dave joined the company in 1980 and can recall many changes that he has seen at Reading Buses, including the move of its headquarters to Great Knollys Street. He currently works as a driver for the company.

“I have certainly seen the company evolve over those 40 years which has been an interesting experience,” he says.

Luke Ballard has reached 20 years of service with Reading Buses.

Luke currently works as an Academy Trainer for the company at its Great Knollys Street depot. His job involves training the new recruits that are on-boarded into the company.

After joining in 2000, Luke has helped hundreds of Reading Buses’ employees gain their bus licences and drive its bus routes through Reading.

“It is congratulations to both Dave and Luke for reaching these amazing milestones,” says Reading Buses HR Director Caroline Anscombe.
