James ‘Jim’ Prince, who alongside business partner John Elcock was instrumental in the development of Shropshire coach operator Elcock Reisen, died on 16 June after a short illness. He was 93.

Mr Prince’s great grandmother established the business as M H Elcock and Son in 1928. It continues to flourish today, having taken delivery of 13 new coaches in mid-2022. The operator marked its 90th anniversary in 2018, celebrating its roots in historic Ironbridge.

Mr Prince’s son Nick is a Director of the company and he notes that his father made many friends among staff members and coach industry peers. “He will be sadly missed,” says Mr Prince Jr.

The funeral will be held on 7 August at Telford Crematorium, Woodhouse Lane, TF2 9NJ. Family flowers only have been requested. Donations should be made to The Fire Fighters Charity.
