RHA has presented a cheque for £16,458 to international development organisation Transaid. It captures money raised by members of the trade body that have taken up the option of donating to the charity when renewing their annual subscription.

The handover came on 18 April at the first day of the 2023 Commercial Vehicle Show. It was made by RHA National Chair Moreton Cullimore (pictured, left) to Transaid Acting Chief Executive Florence Bearman (pictured, right).

Speaking about the donation, Mr Cullimore says: “Transaid does a cracking job supporting the transport infrastructure that is so essential for some of the world’s poorest countries.

“Our industry will always struggle financially – the price of fuel, legislation and regulations all cost. That is what makes the donations from our members so remarkable, and I would like to thank each and every one of them for their generosity.”

Adds Ms Bearman: “Transaid has enjoyed an excellent relationship with RHA and its members for many years, and donations such as this make our work possible.

“Transaid may not run its own [vehicles] in the same way as RHA members, but there is one thing that we have in common. Like members of RHA, we have to make every penny count.”
