CT4N expands Omnibus collaboration with CrewPLAN

Nottingham-based charitable trust CT4N will extend its relationship with Omnibus through the addition of automatic crew scheduling system CrewPLAN to its existing suite of solutions from the supplier.

Scheduling of drivers is currently done manually and CT4N “needs to achieve efficiencies,” says Omnibus. Adoption of CrewPLAN will significantly reduce the amount of time needed to produce efficient and compliant driver duties, and it will deliver tighter control of costs.

CrewPLAN uses advanced algorithms to automatically generate driver duties, adds Omnibus. It takes account of user-controlled parameters and allows variations through workplace agreements.

Route content and other elements within duties can be controlled, and undesirable duty types minimised, the supplier continues. With CT4N, it will complement the recently-selected Omnibus cloud solutions for scheduling and depot allocation.

Speaking about the shift, CT4N Commercial Director Nigel Eggleton says: “Investing in the right digital solutions allows CT4N to tackle today’s solutions head-on, and lay a solid foundation for the future growth of the charity.

“By swapping inefficient processes with CrewPLAN, we can reduce workloads, accomplish more with our resources by minimising costs, and provide management with greater visibility and transparency of operations.”

Adds Omnibus Founder Peter Crichton: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with CT4N, and I am pleased to be working with Nigel again.

“Like all of our solutions, years of internal and external industry knowledge and expertise is built into CrewPLAN. That will continue, making it an essential planning tool for producing robust and efficient crew duty schedules and evaluating ‘what if?’ scenarios.”
