GoMedia has announced a deal with Audible, the world’s largest seller and producer of downloadable audiobooks and other spoken word entertainment, to bring audio programming to users of Greyhound coaches in North America.

They will be able to listen to dozens of Audible’s books through the operator’s GoMedia-developed onboard platform.

Says Ted Koch, Greyhound Vice-President of Strategy, Marketing and Consumer Engagement: “With more than 16m people travelling, we’re always looking for new ways to improve our passenger experience.

“Since launching our onboard platform with GoMedia last year, we’ve been able to offer Hollywood blockbusters and TV boxsets to passengers. Audible’s content enriches the service, allowing customers to let their minds drift as they are engrossed in a story.”

Audible will launch on Greyhound in the autumn. In addition to Audible books, passengers also now have access to a dedicated film section on their portal where Greyhound is the star.

Adds GoMedia MD Roger Matthews: “Alongside Audible, we’re proud to mark out first spoken word deal, enabling Greyhound to create enjoyable experiences for its passengers with a range of complementary Audible books.
