MiX Telematics has launched MyMix Tracking, an extension of its MyMix driver engagement app. It says the new product is a solution to deliver “innovative app-based tracking for vehicles and drivers.”
MyMiX Tracking utilises mobile phone technology to enable the real-time tracking of drivers while also recording, measuring and enabling real-time self-correction of risky behaviour events such as speeding, harsh braking or acceleration and mobile phone use. The app also provides drivers with information and alerts to improve their driving style, including immediate in-cab audible feedback.
MiX says that the product is fully compatible with coach, bus and minibus use. It adds that the app-based solution “is a cost-effective and impactful alternative” to hard-wired devices on a vehicle, which it notes makes it highly suitable for those used on short-term rental periods or which are leased.
